What is Divx?

Divx is a video disk the same size as a CD that has movies on it just like video tapes do. To play these movies you need a Divx player. The Divx

player has a modem in it that calls in to a billing center that charges you every time you watch a movie.

The system was invented by the Hollywood law firm of Ziffren, Brittenham, Branca & Fischer. They think you should pay to watch movies

EVERY TIME you view them, even when you are at home. That’s right, lawyers invented this amazing new bad technology. Imagine that.

Do not confuse DVD (Digital Video Disk) with Divx. DVD lets you buy a digitally perfect movie the size of a CD and keep it

forever.

Why Divx is bad: you pay more and get less.

Divx will charge you money every time you watch a movie.

Divx players will always cost 100-200$ more than DVD (Digital Video Disk) players because they have to have a modem in them that calls every

time you want to watch a movie.

Divx movies Cost $4.95 to view. Blockbuster rents DVD’s for less.

Go to any American household with kids and a VCR. How many Disney movies do they have on the shelf? Imagine how much it would cost

them to pay $4.95 every single time their kids watch any of those movies on a Divx system. The price would be astronomical.

If you pay full price to have unlimited viewing of a Divx disk you can’t take it to your friends house to watch it. Only YOUR Divx player is

authorized to watch it.

What is Divx Corp going to do with all of your viewing information? They will know what you watch and when you watch it. Do you really want

them to have that kind of information?

Does America really need a ‘pay to play’ system for all movies? The answer is a solid NO. Please help by telling everyone that you know why

Divx is just a big ripoff.

Disney is only going to do its animated titles on Divx.

You can mail disney by going to http://www.disney.com/Mail/DisneyPictures/ and telling them how you feel.

Fox is also going to release movies only on Divx.

You can tell 20th Century Fox you are mad by mailing laser@tcfhe.com. and feedback@tcfhe.com

If the email address does not work try these numbers:

1-800-350-4FOX

(310) 369-3319 Fax

You can help by telling everyone you know about this event and get them to put the 'No Divx' button on every web page

we can. Lets make sure that every man, woman, and child on the internet knows that Divx is a consumer ripoff of the

worst kind.
